Adoption

Please send this to someone who might be a good match!

Vanessa-100-19

Hello,

If you or someone you know is pregnant and considering adoption, I hope you’ll take a moment to read this. I’d like to begin by thanking you for taking the time to look over my profile. The choice to place a child for adoption is a profoundly generous and loving act — for the child, and for whomever will parent that child. I know this must be an extremely emotional process. I hope I can help reassure you by telling you that I have wanted children for a very long time, and I’ve come to the decision to adopt with great thought and care, and now is the right time in my life for it to happen. I have just completed my homestudy with the Kinship Center and the only thing left to do is to find that amazing person who will make the ultimate choice to trust me to raise her child.

About me

I am a single woman with an incredible tribe of loving friends and family who have all committed to supporting me as I become a parent. They are a diverse and big-hearted bunch of people, with many children in the mix. I am very much in favor of an open adoption, and hope to work closely with the birthparents on an arrangement that makes everyone comfortable. My career has had many incarnations: For most of it, I’ve been a writer for magazines and newspapers. I’ve also been a playwright, producer, and voice-over actress. Three and a half years ago, I took a steady job (with good pay and benefits) in public relations around environmental topics; my boss and the people around me are very understanding and have offered any help they can as I become a mother.

What I can offer

I can’t tell you that I live in a huge home on a cul-de-sac with a playground just waiting for the sound of children’s laughter. But I can tell you that there’s enough room in my comfortable condo that I share with an adorable beagly mutt named Lucy for a child to grow up safe, happy and healthy. I’d also like to share with this child the most important things that my parents gave to me: generosity of spirit; unconditional love; intellectual curiosity and a passion for books, art and music; respect and reverence for nature; a love of travel and the awareness it brings; extreme compassion; and appreciation for the grand parade of humanity and its goofballs, shining stars and unsung heroes. I would very much welcome the opportunity to meet you and discuss any questions you may have about me, or about how I envision my life with your child. If you’d like to start a conversation about the possibilities, please feel free to call me at 323-244-3300 or send an email, or call my social worker, Susan Brumer, at 310-821-6098. I thank you in advance for your consideration.

I think this is so courageous, generous, and heart-warming Vanessa! I feel truly honored and blessed to be included in your “circle of friends” to help support you in this quest to become a mother. I will help in whatever way that I can, first and foremost by sending this to influential and like-minded friends and family members who I think can help! You are one-in-a-million Vanessa and will make an OUTSTANDING mother!
